Playscripts

Morning Star Productions offers play scripts for use by churches, schools, or for individual use. All of the scripts listed below have been produced successfully by Morning Star and are sure to glorify our Lord, as well as edify and challenge the Christian and non- Christian community. 

Christmas

Light of the World
An old woman comes to a Doctor named Luke and asks him to write down the incredible things which she had witnessed in the life of Jesus Christ. Because Luke is reluctant to help, she recounts all of the events surrounding the birth of the Nazarene. As the woman reveals the wonder and significance of the "Light of the World" to the skeptical man, each part of the story comes alive in drama and dance. (Drama only - 30 min.)

Dawn of Grace
Set in December, 1888, Dawn of Grace is the story of God's mercy, forgiveness, and unconditional love.
Maddy has become pregnant out of wedlock and keenly feels the shame of her actions. Through the love of a colorful cast of characters, she learns that redemption brings joy and freedom from the past. (2 hours)

Easter

The Living Passion
An interactive Passion Play. Audience members follow the action of Holy Thursday through Resurrection Sunday as if they were on the streets of Jerusalem. The scenes of Jesus' arrest, trials, death, and Resurrection are portrayed by actors who also mingle with the crowd, creating an intimate experience for all. (2 hours)

My Brother's Keeper
Aggie is on the fast track to the U S senate, until her mentally challenged brother comes into her life. A funny and poignant look at deciding what matters most in life.

Captive
A young man breaks into an elderly, African - American woman's apartment seeking refuge from the police. But this lady is more than he bargained for. By the time he leaves, he knows his life will never be the same. (2 hours)

Going Home
The placid lives of a conservative Midwestern family are shaken when the eldest son comes home for Thanksgiving with a new girlfriend who doesn't share the family's values. The trauma of 911, the subsequent war in Iraq, and the family conflict put the son into a crucible of change which tests his faith and family bonds. (2 hours)

Dearly Beloved
Three Christian couples await the wedding of their friends, but there is one problem...the bride won't come down from her hotel room. While they wait for the bride to change her mind, relationships are tested and strengthened in this hilarious look at marital bliss. (2 hours)

The Resurrection of Father Brown
8 characters in an ancient rhyme, 8 suspects in a crime! Solve the mystery as Father Brown is "taken out" after he inherits a fortune at the reading of a will. Audience members make accusations as to whodunnit in this fun and  interactive  show. (50 minutes)
